Nov 2009 Pink Pilates is proud to announce a new partnership with Pink Ribbons Project to benefit medically underserved women in the Greater Houston area. A contribution by Pink Ribbons Project to Pink Pilates will fund five women to participate in Pink Pilates’ comprehensive exercise, nutrition, and monitoring program developed specifically for breast cancer survivors. Participants will take part in our specially designed Pilates classes twice a week for 12 weeks. They will also receive individual and group nutritional counseling from a registered dietitian and participate in monthly support group meetings. Participant progress will be monitored by researchers at Rice University with the purpose of documenting the program’s effectiveness. Oct 2009 Pink Pilates was recently featured on KPRC Channel 2 News' "Think Pink" segment during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The story focused on how Pilates Can Help Breast Cancer Recovery and how exercise, if done right, can be an important part of recovery for many cancer survivors.
